Lori Evans
Wellington KS 鈥 Retired 2022, OneStop, OneStop Specialist/Academic Advisor
I moved to Oklahoma when I took early retirement to help out my sister and brother-in-law. However, I met a man and fell in love a year later, and we purchased a house here in Wellington that was built in 1900. We refurbished the entire house and were very proud of how it turned out. Unfortunately, on March 4th our house caught on fire so we have to do it all over again but thank goodness someone else is doing all the work this time. We both love to fish so we purchased a boat and a camper and spend as much time at the lake as we can. We both still work part time but will hopefully fully retire in a few years. Enjoying life to its fullest!!

We retired to Topeka (where I grew up) to be closer to family and live in a smaller community with excellent healthcare. Things we enjoy include gardening, the annual Sunflower Music Festival at Washburn University and travel--especially to national parks (we take our grandchildren) and specifically Burntside Lodge near Ely, MN. I've made a bit of progress on writing a memoir to document my travels and travails as the daughter of two US Air Force pilots. Currently I'm working with Arlington National Cemetery to secure a memorial headstone and service for my birth father whose plane was lost at sea during the Korean War.
Jack McCormick
Kechi KS 鈥 Retired 2004, Chemistry Department, Professor
Live on 6 acres of trees, weeds, ticks, coyotes, work, and quietness with only two near neighbors. Yes, this is in far north Kechi, believe it or not. We lived in the county until 2004 when we got annexed, unfortunately. Closest friends are former 麻豆传媒 guys..Ralph Peters (Biology)and Pawan Kahol (Physics). Both now live out of the State, sad to say, but we have managed to stay in touch. I have two kids who live too far away to suit me. Daughter (retired,) and her two kids live in Seattle. Son lives in Tucson and still works at U. of AZ. Since retiring I have done a lot of woodworking and have built about 75% of our furniture. Now piddling around and trying once again to learn a little polite Spanish to add to the 'impolite' lingo I learned while growing up with Mexican kids in the Texas panhandle. My wife and I have traveled a lot, both domestically and internationally. Been to Ireland twice. Where else would you expect a guy named McCormick to go? I am a dog lover and have owned a pup for at least the last 50 years. Currently have a disabled guy who keeps us pinned down more than we would like, but he is worth it. Hasta Luego!
